ATV - 500 - Active portable night vision system
Because of its range-gating capability ATV-500 allows collecting information in complete darkness and adverse weather conditions in real time. The needs to assess the situation in critical times, to read license plates and any registration marks are now essential for the success of police, anti terrorist, military and maritime surveillance operations. Key features include a DALIST™ illuminator matched to the field of view of a proprietary fast range gated image intensifier. To answer the request of police officers and special task group commanders a portable active system especially design for their operations was developed, the ATV-500. The ATV-500 allows recognition of individuals at a distance up to 500m and reading license plates beyond 300m. Thanks to the operation on the near-infrared, this system provides also the capability to see through glass where thermal imager is useless.
